Worker Training Grants

Are you eligible for a Worker Training Grant?

Please read the following eligibility requirements to determine if you should apply for a Worker Training Grant. If you have any questions visit the FAQ page. If you require more information call or e-mail BTQ.

  • Applications for training grants must be approved prior to the commencement of the course.
  • You must be a current BERT Member.
  • The total funds for all grants will not exceed the highest balance of your BERT account for the past 12 months. (The actual funds in your BERT account are not used for training, however.)
  • New BERT Members must have a minimum balance of $200 in their BERT account.
  • A maximum of two training activities may be funded over a 12-month period.
  • Courses may not be fully funded. Applicants will be advised in writing of the amount to be committed.
  • You must pay for the course upfront.
  • The training must be delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
  • Proof of completed training and proof of payment must be provided before reimbursement is made. Proof includes a copy of training results (certificate or statement of attainment) and a paid tax invoice or official receipt from the RTO.
  • Grants are valid for three months only with extensions available on request.
